I have been a fan of Fast Guard Alarms, and recommended the alarm to many of my contacts, my mechanics and the staff at O'Reilly.
I now realize that I have been recommending a product that is now useless.
How embarrassing! I never would have expected this horrible situation.
The owner had been so kind and accommodating and the alarm worked very well before.
I have been calling him- the phone number even thou still show on his website, is out of service!
I’ve sent at least 3 emails asking for assistance and asking if he is OK, only to be completely ignored. No response, nothing!
But taking my money? Oh yes, that is done right away. How utterly disappointing!
And now you want a review?
I've purchased three alarms in the past year or so. Two of them between July, thinking that something on the road broke the one I had, only to find out this product now is worthless.
I ordered one more alarm and from the time it was installed to when I parked at work 30 minutes later, it wouldn’t work.
I had the alarm checked and we found that it was missing the bottom part of the whole casing. Upon inspection, the mechanic told me that the thing had melted.
I assumed the alarm had been improperly installed, so I went on to purchase another one from the mail service who distributes them.
The second alarm I purchased melted, and the batteries leaked withing 6 minutes of being installed, even before I drove the vehicle. The alarm would not even work! It was installed properly and in the correct place as the others had been, including the same location that the owner had set it up for me a while ago.
Even the mechanics and the parts people were commenting on how ridiculous it was that someone would make something that sits in a hot environment, in spite of the protective tape, of plastic when it should be made of ceramic.
No wonder my catalytic converter was stolen even with the alarm. Now that I had to purchase another one, had it installed, plus the sensors that had been damaged, I am constantly anxious, wondering when someone will steal my catalytic again. Every time I start my car, I am superbly tense.
It is so frustrating!
I am requesting my bank for a refund for the 3 alarms I’ve purchased lately.
